I made this "updates" page to post work in progress of drawings, houdini stuff, or whatever other projects I have going.

This landscape came out really nice. The lighting in the reference photo is really soft so I went into it with the goal of not utilizing the full dynamic range of the palette. Video is in progress for this one!

A beach landscape as seen from a stone arch, I made a video of this one also. Beach landscape painting video

Hey, I finally uploaded the video for the forest painting! It was really fun to make so I just kinda kept going and went all the way through the varnishing process also. Acrylic landscape painting video

Another acrylic landscape. I actually shot a timelapse video of the painting process also. I'll upload that eventually.

A drawing of the old Farmall Super A. Around 70 years old and it still runs great!

Doing some online Zoom figure drawing with Sri as dark cupid. I miss actual figure drawing soooo much but Zoom sessions are working out alright.

This is pretty much what I imagine is happening under the driveway. It's like a skunk condo, the ground squirrels are digging out another unit. Mrs White is reading in her Eames Lounger while Chip bakes some cookies. I love cutaway's like this where there's just lots to look at. I'm going to keep adding to it to make it more visually dense.

Hazel the squirrel picked up a small orange but seemed to have trouble biting into it. She just looked so sad holding on to it. She was eventually able to run off with it.

Another landscape. This one is from a reference photo of a mountain in LA with low clouds moving in below. Again I'm using acrylic which was particularly challenging because it dries so fast. Oil would be a better choice but I paint in my apartment and oil paint just somehow gets everywhere. I'm pretty happy with the way it came out, I got the colors dialed in real nice.

En Plein Apartment. My landlord let me know he was having this tree taken down next to my building because it was pressing on the foundation. It's a prominant feature when I look out my window so I wanted to preserve it as a drawing. I might go back in later and refine this some more.

I bought an iPad for Facetiming with my family but it also works well for drawing. Here's a little animation I made of Chip in Procreate. The way the skunks sort of waddle when they walk is adorable.

A friend of mine has some skunks that live under her driveway. They come out at night and are SO cute! Here's some pen and marker sketches of Chip climbing on the brick stairs.

Here's an acrylic painting I made from a reference photo of the Washington coastline. I absolutely love those rock islands, something about them feels very whimsicle. Maybe it's the way the stunted trees cling to the sides of them like their own little continents. And check out the stone arch to the right in the cove. I didn't make that up, it's really there! Such a cool place. This painting got a little overworked, you can tell I was hammering on the water for awhile. I hadn't painted ocean waves before so it created an interesting challenge.

I've been meaning to get more into landscape painting. Here's an acrylic painting of Malibu Creek State Park as seen from Mulholland. I like how quick and loose the painting is. It's one of those times where it all just sort of came together without much fuss. The underpainting peaks through here and there in a really nice way.
